A Winery in Homestead?
Most people don’t even know where Homestead, Florida is. It’s about an hour south and slightly west of Miami.
But the sign says
The Winery itself must not be confident people know where Homestead is. On their sign at the winery they advertise it as Miami. However the winery is clearly located in what seems like the middle of nowhere, Homestead. But yes, it is there. It’s called Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery.
The Redlands Tropical Trail
In retrospect, I wish we had more time to spend there. We had some time to kill before we could see our son and we wanted to get something to eat. I’m a fan of the OpenTable app, especially when we travel. We have found some really amazing places and this was one of them.
However, as you can see, there’s a lot more to see and do other than just the winery. I will definitely make seeing more of the complex on our next trip!
A Beautiful Tropical Setting
Both indoors and outdoors are open airy and tropical! This is the view as you’re walking into the restaurant.

Mama’s Loaded Bloody Mary
When I saw this on the menu, you KNOW I was planning to try one, or two, or three (mind ya business!) Ya’ll know I love a Bloody Mary! But alas, it was not to be. After waiting for about 20-30 minutes we learned the bartender had not shown up to work yet and/or was not answering her calls. Something like that. That made me look for another option.
The Wine Menu
Since a cocktail was not an option, I turned my focus to the wine menu. It is a winery, after all and I do enjoy a nice light wine.
Mango Wine?
Yes, please! And yes, the mango wine was divine!
Chicken Chicarrones?
That was a new one to me but I had to try it. I couldn’t exactly tell my husband what it was, since he typically doesn’t eat the skin on the chicken. Without that knowledge, we both enjoyed them.
The Dish I Wouldn’t Recommend
I love avocados and had been craving a little red meat so I decided to try something they’re supposed to be known for, their stuffed avocados. Unfortunately, I didn’t really care for them as you can see on this picture. Though the presentation was a 10 the food was a 3.
The Dish I Would Definitely Recommend!
My husband is a bit of a Red Snapper aficionado. Whenever we travel in the Caribbean and different places around Florida, he ALWAYS likes to try their Red Snapper. (I’ll have to do a post on some of his favorites). This was right up there. Everything on this plate was scrumptious! I helped him eat it, I liked it so much.
My CupofMood
Yes, all in all, Schnebly’s was my #cupofmood! I will definitely visit again when we’re back in Homestead.
Have you been?
If so, let me know your visit was and if you explored any of the other attractions while there.
Until next time,
Namaste,
