Reclaiming My Spirit

How to have the perfect 3 day trip to Chicago

I had such a great time in Chicago, I couldn’t wait to share the pics and experiences with you! I’ll start with a recap of our first day as shown in this Tiktok video.

To say we had a good time would be an understatement! It had been a while since I was in Chicago. The last time I had been in Chicago before then, was in 2016, when I was there at a conference.

Chicago 2016

Since I was being wined and dined by a prospective client, I stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in the Miracle Mile area. The hotel was the ultimate in luxury and fell in love with the amenities. Ironically, fast forward to 2021. Nik and I enjoyed the Spa at the Peninsula.

We really enjoyed our time at the Spa at The Peninsula

There really was too much to cover in one post without making it too long so I’ll take it in pieces. This post will preview posts to come. Here’s what you can expect:

Spa details – I’ll go into details about the spa as a post on my spallowme page. That’s my section of my reclaimingmyspirit blog where I share spa details.

Chicago food – I can’t even begin to tell you how much good food we ate! I’ll give the highs and lows.

The sites and scenes – we were all over downtown Chicago, doing some of everything. You can follow our journeys into downtown, Greektown, Miracle Mile and more.

Rent the Broadway Musical – this was the whole reason I ended up coming to town. There’s so much to say about the play!

Womanish – the exhibit. If you don’t know about it, you are in for a real treat!

I can tell you it was a jam packed 3 days in the Windy City! I was certainly a tired mom when it was all said and done but by the smiles I saw on Nik’s face, I also knew I was the cool mom.

Brunch at The Smith

Stay tuned for the next post. Until then, Namaste.

Hi! Welcome to my blog! I’m Khadeeja and for me, this is more than just a blog. It is my own, genuine, realtime, healing process on a journey to Reclaim My Spirit”.  (For the juicy details of how I ended up needing to reclaim my spirit, check out my About Me Page).

In here you’ll find the daily practices I’m using as well as the things I’m doing, reading, watching, listening to and experiencing on my journey to reclaim my spirit. My intention is for this to be a space of self-reflection, compassion, growth, and development for all who visit. I would be humbled and honored if you’re willing to share your story and your tools to help others who also may be on a journey to reclaim their spirits. So, join in the conversation. Tell me about your personal journey to #reclaimingmyspirit.
