How I Found An Exquisite Breakfast In Cancun
Our journey to find another exquisite Cancun breakfast started off with a recommendation from the OpenTable app. Through the years we’ve had some fabulous meals we found all over the world from recommendations on OpenTable.
So, on our last day in Cancun, we were looking for a place for a good breakfast to hold us over on our flight back home. I found El Fish Fritanga – Zona Hotelera and we headed over.
Looks Can Be Deceiving When It Comes To An Exquisite Cancun Breakfast
Now, I must admit. I was a little taken aback when we pulled into the parking lot. It initially looked like it was a small restaurant with outdoor dining only. I looked back at the menu I saw on the OpenTable app and had a couple of initial thoughts.
One thought was, there’s no way this little place could possibly offer the exquisite Cancun breakfast as shown on the menu. My second thought was, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be worth the effort of getting out of the since it was raining.
You can see for yourself what we initially thought was the restaurant and seating arrangements.
Our Shot At An Exquisite Cancun Breakfast Got Better
I was pleasantly surprised there was much more to the restaurant than the front part. In fact, my thoughts of being able to get an exquisite Cancun breakfast were even more hopeful as I saw the cute décor as we headed into a much more spacious open air restaurant on the water.
But it got even better. I don’t know if you notice it in the picture above but there was an even greater reason to believe we’d be able to get that exquisite Cancun breakfast after all. And it was right in front of our eyes.
As Seen On TV
Oh yeah, I knew I was in for an exquisite Cancun breakfast once I saw Guy Fieri on the wall. I mean, come on, if Guy was there, it had to be good. Upon further research, I found that El Fish Fritanga had been featured on one of Guy’s many TV shows. This one was Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network.
So, we walk confidently down the stairs and into the restaurant to explore the breakfast menu.
The Breakfast Menu
Before arriving, I thought I would have more of these breakfast nacho dishes I had another morning at a different restaurant. Stay tuned for that blog post. I got excited once I saw them on the menu.
As delicious as those chilaquiles looked, I was almost certain I would order them again. To my logic, each place makes them differently so why not try them here.
But there were other delicious options I never even heard of until that very day.
Even More Exquisite Cancun Breakfast Options
Just look at all of those tasty options available on the page above alone. We had a giggle over the name of one of the dishes above. They’re called Divorced Eggs. We both decided, no matter how good they may be, we would stay away from anything with divorce. Especially as we look to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary this year.
But, Wait, There Are Even More Options For An Exquisite Cancun Breakfast
And then I saw the dish in the picture above. I didn’t know what it was but it looked amazing! I assumed it was the Green Swiss Enchiladas since that was the name of the dish under the picture.
Then I looked at the description of the Enmoladas. That too, looked amazing. Since I’m a daring eater, especially when we travel. If you don’t believe, me check out what I ate while we were in Curacao. You can read about it in this blog, The Food to Try for The Best Travel Story!
I was in a bit of a quandary but thankfully we had an excellent server.
The Fantastic Server
We had a wonderful server who took the time to discuss the food options with us, carefully explaining each dish. Based on his recommendations I chose the Enmoladas. He assured me it was an excellent choice and didn’t think I would be disappointed.
All I can say is he didn’t lie!
An Exquisite Cancun Breakfast As Good As It Looks
This is simply a beautiful dish. Both inside and out. It’s just beautiful. Since this picture won’t do it justice, take a look at the video.
The First Bites Of An Exquisite Cancun Breakfast
I can’t even begin to explain the flavor explosion I experienced when I bit into this wonderful Enmoladas. Here’s a video after I ate a bit.
The Exquisite Cancun Breakfast Good To The Last Drop
That food was so good that in a very uncharacteristic manner, I ate every last bit! It was so good, it was all I could do to not lick my plate.
When I was complimenting our server, (I wish I could remember his name), he told us how fortunate we were to have mole sauce there. Apparently, not everyone knows how to fix a real mole sauce. The best mole cooks come from a certain part of Mexico.
Listen as he explains the history and the dish.
Beautiful Ambiance For An Exquisite Cancun Breakfast
In addition to having an exquisite Cancun breakfast, we were also treated to beautiful ambience. From the sights, sounds and views, everything was wonderful. Check out part of the view in the video below. The music you hear playing in the background is what’s playing at the restaurant.
So, I have to say, this was another Bucket List item I didn’t even know I had until this trip. To eat an authentic Mexican Mole sauce.
