It’s Monday so who wouldn’t want some Hilarious ’70s TV Trivia sure to make you smile? We’ll do this trivia game similar to another TV show on in the ’70s. That one was called Name That Tune.
Except instead of naming tunes, you’ll name answers to some hilarious ’70 TV Trivia on the classic TV Show Alice. Let’s go!
Name That Tune!
You can hear the theme show song playing in your head. But can you name that tune? Look at the picture above. It’s a clue to this Hilarious ’70s TV Trivia. Remember Alice was moving. So the song is appropriately called, New Girl In Town. The song was sung by the show’s lead actress, Linda Lavin.
If you you’re a Linda Lavin fan or want to know more about the song, check out this blog post.
Name That City!
Alice and her son were on the way to Los Angeles when their car broke down in Phoenix, Arizona. They were cash strapped and needed money quickly. This is how Alice came to work at Mel’s Diner.
Name That Dish!
Mel was known for his Chili. It seemed to be the one thing that wasn’t tasteless and or didn’t cause indigestion or other stomach issues. In fact, Mel’s Chili landed him an appearance on the Dinah Shore Talk Show.
If you’re not an Oldhead like me to know who Dinah Shore was, just click the link . You’ll find out more about the late Dinah Shore.
Name That Mean Nickname!
Watching the show now, there are definitely many cringe worthy moments. Wearing my old HR hat, I would definitely say Mel as a boss would be an HR nightmare. One reason would be his nickname for Vera. It was Dingy.
While Vera was a bit scatter brained on the show, that was part of her appeal. I just can’t imagine now laughing at a boss verbally abusing his employees.
Name That Full Name!
Who didn’t love Fast Girl Flo? Her full name was Florence Jean Castleberry. We all remember her famous Kiss My Grits saying!
Name That Great Nickname!
Did you catch my hint? What was the Great Nickname? Maybe you would get it a little more clearly if I put this in all caps. Name that GREAT Nickname. The emphasis is on the GREAT! That’s because Flo’s nickname for him was Tiger. You know,
.
Name That First Name!
Now you know the nickname Flo gave him. But do you know his name on the show? It’s Tommy. Tommy Hyatt, that was their last name. When Alice was on, pretty much every girl my age I knew had a crush on Tommy! Did you?
Name That Sister!
It may help to know the actor, Tommy’s real name. It was Phillip McKeon. Once I tell you or better yet show you his sister, you’ll wonder how you didn’t remember it sooner. They look so much alike! See the picture below to find out who his sister is.
Unfortunately, Phillip McKeon passed away in 2019 after battling a long term illness. He was only 55 years old.
Remember Her?
If you’re a member of Gen X and a woman, I’m pretty sure you recognize Nancy McKeon as Jo from The Facts of Life tv show. This little tidbit may just be the most hilarious 70s tv trivia. When I looked Phillip’s picture now, I can’t unsee Jo from Facts of Life. Talk about a strong family resemblance!
