The First Shocking Truth
Yes, Gen X, it’s hard to believe, we’re actually old enough for AARP. At least many in our generation are. Before you ask, let me refresh your memory on who Gen X is.
Tooting My Own Horn
I don’t usually toot my own horn but when AARP contacted me to do a story on me, I couldn’t resist! So, toot, toot!
I mean, I used to think about AARP being for old people. Old of course, being anything at least 10 years older than me. However, when I initially got my AARPP invitation, I wasn’t quite ready to even consider it.
However, the older I get the more comfortable I get with my age and my overall self. So, at this point, as a proud member of Gen X, I’m ready for AARP!
I know there are some benefits Gen X can gain by joining AARP. Stay tuned for a post once I get a chance to do some research and get more info.
AARP – A Journey Through The Lives of Gen X
AARP’s Instagram page has the tag line, A Journey Through The Lives Of Gen X. So I’m thrilled to be able to represent Gen X! I was inspired by some of the other GenX stories AARP featured on their Instagram page.
But First, The Pressing Questions
The photo shoot is next week so I have to figure out some pressing issues! You know things like, what should I wear? How should I wear my hair?
Caftan Or Not?
On the topic of what should I wear. I find some of my GenX sisters, myself included, have developed an affinity for caftans. We regularly talk about caftans on my TikTok page. In fact, we recently agreed in this video to call them caftans and not moo moos. So, I thought a caftan would be just the ticket!
But that wasn’t the only pressing question!
What Color Lipstick?!
I get so many questions about the lipsticks I wear in my videos, of course I wanted to get their opinion on what color lipstick I should wear.
Then there was another question.
The Final Question
What glasses should I wear? You know I love changing up my glasses so I had to figure out the outfit to know about the glasses.
The Final Verdict
Most of the feedback has been that I should wear a caftan, definitely wear purple with the purple glasses and purple lipstick. So I’m working on the final look. I may do a TikTok Live on the day of the shoot. If so, I’ll put out a video to let people know.
