Check out this hot mess!
While I was out this summer doing this.
My garden had fallen into a “planned” state of wildness. The truth is, summers in Tampa are too hot to successfully grow traditional summer veggies like tomatoes, peppers, etc. Believe me, I have finally learned this after YEARS of buying into the Memorial Day sales the local box home improvement. Stocking up on the fruit and veggies on sale. Only to have said fruit and veggies wither due to a) the intense Florida summer heat and humidity b) neglect.
Ok, so the second one is because summer is full on beach and pool season! I’m easily distracted by the the ability to hang out by, in or around the pool. Especially if the grands are around! Then it’s a full on pool party! I had a blast over the summer with the grands doing stuff like this.
And don’t even get me started on how many beach trips I try to squeeze in! Usually we do Florida beach trips but since we couldn’t travel as much last summer due to the pandemic, we were some of everywhere doing the beach.
We spent our 35th wedding anniversary in Jamaica doing Bucket List stuff like in this video. I’ll put all of the Bucket List videos from that trip in one post, sometime in the near future.
So, I guess it’s no wonder my garden was in a state of disarray. But I was determined to change that and start my fall garden. So here’s the first post about where it started and to show I understood the assignment.
I finally got the whole back garden cleared out and I felt like Rocky. That prompted me to make this video.
So, the garden is now tamed. Now onto to the good stuff, laying out and planting the different garden beds. Also, stay tuned for the video Tiktok didn’t want you to see.
