On A Dream Trip To Jamaica, Add This Place To Your List

We just came back from one of our Dream Trips to Jamaica we discovered the Wake and Bake Café in Negril, Jamaica

On our recent Dream Trip to Jamaica, we found a wonderful little gem of a place in Negril, Jamaica. It’s called the Wake-N- Bake Café. We were headed to Rick’s Café after a fun day of sightseeing. I knew it was someplace we would have to go back to so I could explore.

So come along and check it out with me.

The Vibe

The front of the Wake N Bake Café in Negril, Jamaica

First of all, I was already having so much fun, I couldn’t believe our Dream Trip to Jamaica could get any better. That was, of course, until we stumbled across the Wake N Bake Café.

The outside looked so inviting, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the homey feel. The calming earth tones further contributed to the vibe. Then, there were the handwritten signs or notices on the wall.

Let’s check them out together, shall, we?

Ganja Smoking Is A Right On A Dream Trip To Jamaica

Ganja Smoking Only is proclaimed as a sacramental right

As you walk up to the entrance of the Wake N Bake Café, you’re greeted by bold notices on either side of the entrance. To the left of the entrance, just beneath the hours there’s a handwritten sign.

The sign proudly declares Ganja Smoking as a sacramental right. In fact, the only kind of smoking you can do at the Wake N Bake Café is Ganja Smoking. As the sign clearly proclaims, no cigarette smoking, ganja only.

Considering I’m not a cigarette smoker, and I am a ganja smoker, this was right up my alley!

Quoting Scripture

The Wake and Bake Café quotes scripture to support the use of ganja

The sign on the other side of the door, quotes Bible Scripture, Genesis 1:29. It reads as follows:

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Meaning, Ganja is one of the herb bearing seeds from the face of the earth that can be used for meat. While, I don’t know exactly what that means, I agree with the general sentiment that ganga is from the earth and therefore can’t be that bad.

The Menu

The menu at The Wake and Bake Café can certainly contribute to a Dream Trip to Jamaica

One of the many wonderful things about the Wake N Bake Café that most certainly contributed to a Dream Trip to Jamaica for us, were the edibles! Everything is freshly made the same day. Some of the products like popcorn and milkshakes are made on the spot.

If you order something like popcorn or a milkshake, you can stand inside and read the helpful informational material available on the counter. Since they sell everything from Ganja to mushrooms, having the additional informational is great.

The Delightful Sign Sure To Make Your Dream Trip To Jamaica Better

The sign in the store is a cute twist on the traditional, “We’re Closed” sign

The décor at the Wake N Bake Café is eclectic homestyle which contributes to it’s Zen like atmosphere. This sign is likely the reason why.

The First Video

Visiting The Wake N Bake Café enhanced our Dream Trip to Jamaica

I created this video after our first visit. I had every intention of showing the stuff I bought, a brownie, a milkshake and a pre-roll. Butceptfor, in my excitement and caught up in a conversation with a local, I forgot all about recording.

And my wonderful TikTok family made sure to let me know I didn’t finish the job. So after we visited the Accompong Maroon Village, we made a repeat trip.

Stay tuned for videos and a blog about visiting the Maroon Village, it was absolutely amazing!

It was a tough decision to go back and get more footage but I bit the bullet and went back. I am so glad we did.

Include Stoner’s Sanctuary On Your Dream Trip To Jamaica

The Stoner’s Sanctuary behind The Wake N Bake Café in Negril, Jamaica

The second visit provided even more insight as to why they have a sign called the Stoner’s Sanctuary. It’s because they literally have a beautiful garden sanctuary in back of the café.

Stoner’s Sanctuary

The Stoner’s Sanctuary at The Wake N Bake Café includes more than just a garden

After placing my order, Julie, one of the owners, told us we could wait in the Sanctuary while we waited. Boy did that open my eyes to another aspect of a Dream Trip to Jamaica.

That’s because the Stoner’s Sanctuary is more than just a garden. They also have rooms you can rent for a stay.

Chillaxing In The Sanctuary

There are several hammocks to choose from when visiting the Stoner’s Sanctuary

As you slowly amble through the sanctuary, it’s clearly set up for you to relax and chill. There are quaint little sitting areas interspersed in shady areas of the garden sanctuary.

And not just sitting areas, there were also several hammocks available for a relaxing swing.

The Milkshake Was Everything!

A vanilla milkshake is one of the products you can order at the Wake N Bake Café in Negril, Jamaica

Thankfully I remembered to record what the milkshake looked like and how it tasted. Vanilla is the only flavor you can order but it also has one of the ganga ginger cookies blended in as well. The shake, itself, is infused with ganja, too.

Not only was it delicious, it certainly had a nice little affect after about an hour.
