It’s no secret, we LOVE Jamaica. We consider ourselves veterans, having taken at least 5 trips or so over the years. We typically stay at one of the many All-Inclusive Resorts in Jamaica. There are so many to choose from it’s hard to know the best all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica but we have our favorites.

It really depends who’s traveling. In 2018, we took Nik and Tyson to The Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica. It was a great family friendly resort. If you’re looking for the best all-inclusive family resorts in Jamaica click the link.

When it’s just Michael and me, we love the Secrets Resorts. Secrets Wild Orchid, Breathless and Dreams and most recently Zoetry.

On this trip, we wanted to experience a different side of Jamaica. We wanted to venture out and explore Jamaica a little. Fortunately, with the help of our wonderful driver, Anthony Wilson, we did see more of Jamaica while we drove to Negril when I visited Jackie’s On the Reef. You can read about my transcedental experience there in my blog post.

We wanted a little solace and isolation away from all of the hustle and bustle to wrap up our trip. We found the perfect little secluded retreat, called Strawberry Fields Together that truly indulged ALL of our senses. Let me start with the sense of sight.

A breathtaking treat for your eyes

I really don’t need to use many words here. Just look at these spectacular views!

The melody of nature is a delight to your ears

As if the views weren’t enough, the sounds of nature surround and immerse you. From inside the cabin, at night, you’re lulled to sleep to the rhythmic ocean waves that make you feel like you’re sleeping safely inside a cocoon in middle of the Caribbean Sea.

Open air, sea water and other scents of nature tickle your nose

Smell is hard to describe so I’ll keep this part short. The best way to describe it is pure. The air and everything in it, smelled pure, fresh, fragrant and calming.

All of this and I haven’t even told you about the cabin.

The Love Nest

Strawberry Fields is set up like a campground. There are detached cabins as well as a two-level house you can rent some or all of. We rented the upstairs unit with its own private entrance. It’s called The Love Nest.

Here’s a video of when you first walk into the kitchen. Check out the balcony off the kitchen!

Inside the Love Nest

Take a look inside this extraordinary place and make sure to listen, too.

Don’t be worried by the mosquito netting. When I booked the place and saw that, I immediately assumed there was an issue with mosquitos and came prepared. It’s really there for the look. We didn’t use or any of my mosquito preparations at all.

The windows open up partially or completely to expose this magnificent view:

The outdoor shower and tub

No words necessary.  Just look and listen.

The sound of the water is what I was describing earlier. You got to hear that sound all day and night. It was heaven! Listening to that sound and looking at the water while you actually take a bath in the outdoor soaking tub was nothing short of sensory delight!

The kitchen

Since the place had a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, we stopped at the grocery store and stocked the fridge with a plan for me to cook some of our meals.

I’ll share my grocery store experience in another post.

The unit did have a kitchen. Yes, you can cook there. Unfortunately, the first morning there, we discovered the refrigerator was not working and our food was going bad. When property management arrived, they immediately replaced the refrigerator. I was able to save some of the food and cook a few meals.  Since there wasn’t a dishwasher, I became creative with some of my cooking. Check out my one pot oxtails and rice, lol!

I will say, the hot water in the kitchen didn’t work very well so I found myself boiling water to wash and clean the dishes which pretty much ended the whole cooking plan. Thankfully, Strawberry Fields has a wonderful restaurant onsite, called The Strawberry Patch.

The restaurant

We got to know Ms. Jennifer Wright who is the fantastic, long time homestyle chef for The Strawberry Patch Cafe.

Ms. Jennifer has accolades for days adorning the walls of the restaurant. After eating her cooking, I completely understand why.

The restaurant was spacious, airy and had a scenic view of the water as you eat.

They clearly took Covid concerns seriously. I found this to be the case all across Jamaica. These types of signs coupled with hand sanitizer were everywhere!

Ms. Jennifer wasn’t only a good cook, she was a great bartender! This is one of the special drinks she made for me. I don’t remember what it was but it had some strawberry goodness in it!

In addition to what was on the menu, Ms. Jennifer made my special request of ackee and saltfish for my last morning on the island. I love this dish and ate it every chance I got while I was there.

The beach

Finally, I’ll get to the part of Strawberry Fields that indulges all of your senses at once, the magnificent beach!

Strawberry Fields is also a private park you can pay an entrance fee and enjoy for the day. We arrived on Saturday, 12/26 which is also Boxing Day in Jamaica.

That made it a holiday weekend. One of the things families do on holidays, is spend time together at the beach. People after my own heart! We saw families out enjoying the beach on Saturday and Sunday.

But on Monday, I had the ENTIRE beach to myself! I suspect that’s what it’s like when it’s not a holiday weekend.

My favorite things

There were so many awe-inspiring parts of our stay, I could be here all day telling you about them.

Instead, I’ll provide a few pics of my favorite things.

This crystal.

This crystal was in the outdoor shower area. I feel in love with the look and feel of it immediately. It emitted such a calming aura, I thought for sure it was meant for me. I asked the owner if she would be wiling to sell it. Unfortunately, the answer was no. So, I guess I just have to appreciate the memory.

The Soaking Tub

The Sunrise

The beach to myself

Hammock chairs off kitchen

The herbs and fresh flowers at the restaurant

The peace I saw my husband experience

I booked our trip through VRBO.

The owner, Kim Chase was wonderful to work with and engaged with me immediately after the booking.

So, if you’re looking for a secret hideaway in Jamaica to indulge all of your senses, make sure to book Strawberry Fields Together. It was one of our favorite stays in Jamaica!
