I have to tell you about one of the favorite parts of my trip to Chicago when I was visiting my daughter Nicole, last week.
It’s the Womanish Exhibit. It was absolutely amazing! It’s 5 floors of interactive woman based experiences that reflect on the experiences of being a woman.
Womanish speaks to the experience of all women but I can tell you as an African American woman, I felt heard, seen and validated. Why? Because it was clear the Exhibit was heavily influenced by the African American woman’s experience. You’ll see what I mean as I take you through each floor.
To keep the posts brief, I’ll break down each section into a separate post.
Entrance and first floor
This is entrance on the first floor of the Exhibit as you first walk in. You’ll see this whole section in the video but can we talk about how cute this little mock diner is?
Another awesome thing about the Exhibit is, it’s filled with absolutely some of the best IG worthy backdrops, backgrounds and experiences. Just wait, you’ll see!
