Welcome, fellow food enthusiasts! We’re embarking on one of many little known restaurants in Jamaica. Not to mention, one that happens to include fine dining and beautiful secluded beach.
A Month of Exploring Little Known Restaurants
It’s no secret that we love Jamaica. In fact, not only do I love Jamaica, I love to blog about the wonderful experiences I’ve had while here in Jamaica.
You can read about some of them like this one on How To Make Your Dream Trip Even Better. Or this one about one of my absolutely favorite places in Jamaica.
Since our house is still being rebuilt and it’s been a tough year. Michael and I decided why not pass some of the time in Jamaica? No need to rush back. So by the time we left from our anniversary trip in June we were committed to finding an affordable way to spend a whole month in Jamaica.
Now y’all know I love to eat. And I love how if you have a car you can explore little known restaurants with absolutely fantastic food in Jamaica. We learned that on some of recent trips when we rented a car.
I’m thrilled to present this little known restaurant because it combines two of my favorite things. Good food and the beach. Add a good cocktail and it’s heaven to me!
So, let’s explore, Christopher’s at Hermosa Cove in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Christopher’s at Hermosa Cove A Feast for the Senses
As I embark on the first installment of some of the little known restaurants in Jamaica, get ready to discover the tantalizing secrets of Christopher’s at Hermosa Cove.
Indeed, it’s a culinary haven tucked away in the heart of this Caribbean paradise.
In fact, picture this: turquoise waters gently caressing pristine white sands, and the tantalizing aroma of Jamaican delicacies filling the air.
At Christopher’s, your taste buds are in for a treat as vibrant as the island itself.
The Culinary Stars of The Show
Let’s start with the culinary stars of the show—the Ackee and Saltfish and the Oxtails with Rice and Peas. As legendary as reggae beats echoing through the Jamaican hills, these dishes embody the soul of the island.
And believe me the Ackee and Saltfish and the Oxtails with Rice and Peas, did not disappoint.
The Ackee and Saltfish dance on your palate with the perfect balance of flavors, while the Oxtails, slow-cooked to perfection, practically melt in your mouth. It’s a symphony of taste that will have you craving an encore.
Not Just Good Jamaican Cuisine
If you’re not in the mood for local food or just have a hankering for something different. I’m happy to report EVERYTHING we ate there was good. My husband raved about the burger shown above. I took a bite and it was delicious and well seasoned!
My shrimp salad was absolutely delicious! One of the things I love about eating here in Jamaica is how fresh all of the food is.
And when I say all of the food was good, I truly mean, all of the food! Even these vegetables were so good, I wanted to order just a whole plate of it!
Beyond the Palate: The History of Christopher’s
Now, let’s dive into the intriguing history of Christopher’s at Hermosa Cove. Named after the visionary Christopher Blackwell, this culinary gem is nestled within the embrace of lush tropical gardens, making it a sanctuary for foodies seeking both flavor and tranquility.
Christopher Blackwell, a music mogul turned hospitality enthusiast, envisioned a place where the essence of Jamaica could be savored in every bite. The result? A culinary haven that seamlessly fuses local authenticity with international flair.
Savoring the Surroundings
But Christopher’s is more than just a dining destination—it’s a gateway to the stunning beauty of Hermosa Cove. Which was fortunately for us located next to our resort.
This was one of those cases of it was literally faster to swim there than drive there. That’s because you have to go on the main road and then drive back through this winding way to get to the beautiful seclusion of Christophers.
That’s why I decided to test the theory by swimming to it while Michael drove. At least that was my plan. You can see how it went in this TikTok video.
Not Just Feeding Appetites At Christopher’s
After walking into Christopher’s, dining and swimming I totally get why this little known restaurant says they don’t just feed appetites, they feed souls.
Because by the time I left, my belly was full and so was my spirit!

Like My Swimsuit?
I absolutely love the fit and design of this swimsuit. And I’m looking forward to breaking in this new Aqua 6-Piece Water Fitness Set. That’s the belt you see around my back and the webbed gloves are from the set. thought I would get to break it in with the swim to Christopher’s but it will have to wait for another day.
You can find my swimsuit, the water fitness set and other things to get you ready for the beach in my Beach Day Ready Collection at my Amazon Storefront.
Until next time,
Namaste,
